Swedish Massage Training
Swedish Massage is the basic training for everyone to start their career as a Massage Therapist.
What is a Swedish Massage?
There are a number of different Swedish massage techniques, but all combine to deliver a delightfully relaxing massage through gentle circular pressure applied by the therapist’s hands (known professionally as ‘friction’). Other Swedish massage techniques include:
  • Effleurage – a type of gentle stroking, including long strokes.
  • Petrissage – what you think of when muscles are kneaded.
  • Vibration – includes light tapping and other techniques which can cause the body to lightly shake or vibrate.
  • Hacking – includes the karate-style ‘chops’ you may also associate with massage.
Pehr Henrik Ling is credited as the Father of Swedish Massage, in addition to bringing physical education to Sweden.
Swedish massage is incredibly enjoyable. It is restorative, working with the muscles and soft tissues to provide calm and balance, and even have an overall effect on your wellbeing.
What are the benefits of Swedish massage for course clients?
  • Pain management
  • Deep relaxation
  • Better blood circulation
  • Increased energy levels
  • Better flexibility and mobility
  • Improved mood
  • Stronger immune system

Deep Tissue Massage Training
What is a Deep Tissue Massage?
Deep tissue massage therapy isn't just a Swedish massage with deeper strokes or harder pressure. Deep tissue massages use firm pressure and slow stroked to massage deep layers of muscle and fascia, which is the connective tissue that surrounds your muscles.
Deep tissue massages are used to break up scar tissue and break down muscle adhesions (the "knots" that we feel in our muscles are muscle adhesions, which are bands of rigid and painful muscle tissue). These knots can inhibit our circulation and cause pain and inflammation.
When the massage begins, your massage therapist usually starts with lighter pressure to warm up your muscles and then works into deeper pressure.
The common techniques used in deep tissue massage therapy include stripping, which is deep pressure that glides along the length of your muscle fibers and friction, which applies pressure across the grain of your muscle to break up adhesions and align tissue fibers.
What are the benefits of Swedish massage for course clients?

1. Reduces symptoms of anxiety, muscle tension, and stress

2. Helps relieve chronic back pain

3. Helps break down scar tissues

4. Improves symptoms of arthritis

5.Improved mobility

Thai Table Massage Training

Thai Table massage is a relatively new phenomenon. Historically, Thai massage practitioners performed Traditional Thai Massage on a floor mat. This adaptation has become popular because it fits nicely with Western massage modalities.

Most Western massage therapists do their massage on a massage table, so it is easy to add Thai Massage techniques to the table. The client is already lying on the table, and it would interrupt the session by asking the client to lie down on the floor to do a Thai Massage technique or sets of techniques to return to the table later.

Additional benefits of Thai table massage are that it is suitable for a workplace with limited space and accessible for Thai massage practitioners with physical conditions that don’t allow them to kneel on the floor or sit on their heels.

What techniques are used with Thai massage?
In a traditional Thai massage, practitioners use their hands, thumbs, elbows, forearms, and sometimes even their feet to reduce tension in your muscles.
Thai massage is based on the idea that energy moves through your body along predictable lines or pathways known as sens.
To increase the flow of energy along the sens, the practitioner will move your body into yoga-like positions in addition to pulling and rocking your body in various ways.
The combination of stretching, movement, and pressure is what distinguishes Thai massage from other types of massage.

Thai massage may be a good option for you if you want a more active type of massage, where you move and participate instead of lying down throughout your massage.

Benefits

  • Relieves headaches
  • Reduces back pain
  • Relieves joint stiffness and pain
  • Increases flexibility and range of motion
  • Eases anxiety
  • Revives energy

What you will learn?

Table Thai and Stretching course will introduce you to Thai techniques and stretching for the client on the massage table. This course also illustrates stretching for the seated client as well as self-stretches for the massage therapist. The stretches can be performed with the client clothed or draped and can easily be instantly incorporated into your daily massage routine. This course will also explain the stretch reflex and three basic types of stretching.

Cupping Massage Training
Cupping therapy is an ancient form of alternative medicine in which a therapist puts special cups on your skin for a few minutes to create suction. People get it for many purposes, including to help with pain, inflammation, blood flow, relaxation and well-being, and as a type of deep-tissue massage.
The cups may be made of:
  • Glass
  • Bamboo
  • Earthenware
  • Silicone
Cupping therapy might be trendy now, but it’s not new. It dates back to ancient Egyptian, Chinese, and Middle Eastern cultures. One of the oldest medical textbooks in the world, the Ebers Papyrus, describes how the ancient Egyptians used cupping therapy in 1,550 B.C.

Hot Stones Massage Training
WHAT IS HOT STONE MASSAGE?
At first, it might seem weird to have warm, flat stones placed in specific locations on your body. But these are special stones with a purpose.
Massage therapists typically use Basalt river rocks. These rocks are smooth and hold heat well.
Using a stone heater, your therapist heats the stones to temperatures between 58c- 65c. This is the ideal temperature range to warm your muscles without burning skin.
Stones sit along your spine, on your chest, feet, palms, and even your face.
After the stones heat your muscles, your therapist begins the massage. Taking advantage of warm muscles helps improve the benefits of hot rock massage.
Benefits
  • Helps relieve muscle tension and pain. Heat has long been used to ease muscle tension and pain
  • Reduces stress and anxiety
  • Promotes sleep
  • May help relieve symptoms of autoimmune diseases
  • May help decrease cancer symptoms
  • May boost immunity
Training
Our Hot Stone Therapy Massage course will teach you the effective and healing massage that is used by many as a treatment for a variety of ailments, both mental and physical. Not only will you learn how to competently perform the treatment adhering to your client’s specific needs, you will also learn its history in relieving muscle-tension and the purpose of hot stones within massage, as well as the re-energising and cleaning process of stones.

Deep Tissue and Swedish Massage: What’s the Difference?

Swedish massage—what most people in the U.S. would identify as a “classic” massage—is designed to promote as much mental relaxation as physical. Deep tissue massage, on the other hand, prioritizes the physiological benefits.
According to Williams, deep tissue massage generally uses firmer and more sustained pressure, particularly in “problem” areas that are causing the client discomfort. Because of the more intense nature of this type of treatment, Williams says it can be more physically demanding on the part of the massage therapist.

Sport Massage Training

Sports massage is focused and systematic, targeting muscles that are used in a specific sport. It uses various techniques to decrease muscle pain and improve recovery, as well as improve overall range of motion and flexibility to support safe and effective movement.

With that course you can assist training, rehabilitation, and pre- or post-performance goals. While often sought by elite and amateur athletes, sports massage can also be beneficial for anyone who regularly exercises.

Various movements and techniques are used to try to help an athlete's body achieve maximum performance and physical conditioning, with a decreased chance of injury or pain and a quicker recovery.

A sports massage session is specifically tailored to an individual's needs. Some elements of sports massage are used in other physical therapy settings and to treat conditions outside of sports, such as carpal tunnel syndrome.

Benefits

  • Increased joint range of motion (ROM)
  • Increased flexibility
  • Decreased muscle tension
  • Decreased neurological excitability (nerves more relaxed)
  • Decreased muscle spasms
  • Increased sense of well-being
  • Decreased anxiety and improved mood
  • Better sleep

Purported benefits for which there is limited research evidence include:

  • Increased blood flow
  • Increased elimination of exercise waste products (lactic acid)
  • Decreased chance of injury
  • Decreased recovery time between workouts

Examples of techniques used in sports massage include:

  • Swedish style massage
  • Effleurage (stroking)
  • Petrissage (kneading)
  • Compression
  • Friction
  • Tapotement (rhythmic striking)
  • Vibration
  • Gliding
  • Stretching
  • Percussion
  • Trigger points

Thai Facial Massage
Originally, Thai Facial Massage was simply part of a full body Thai Massage, or in any case an integral part of a Thai Head, Neck and Shoulder Massage. As has happened with several other treatments, such as Thai Foot, Thai Hand and Thai Abdominal Massage, to name a few, today the Thai Face or Facial Massage is increasingly offered as an individual treatment modality, being prominently present on Thai Spa treatment menus.
Several concepts can be applied within a Thai Facial Massage session: the use of reflexology i.e. Thai acupressure points, cupping, peeling, Thai herbal mixtures applied as masks, compresses, packs, scrubs, the use of essential or base oils, and of course… massage which consists of rubbing, pulling, kneading, pressing, circular movements, squeezing, and shaking techniques, and so on.
Although there are certainly typical Thai elements to be found in the facial massage treatments (and training courses) offered in Thailand, many are in fact a blend of both Western and Oriental facial treatment styles.
Like other massages, facial massages eliminate tensions, improve muscle tone and support natural health, in this case of the face, by improving blood circulation.
A better blood flow can recover the color and freshness of the face, making the face looks younger and tight again. Important other objectives are to remove or diminish wrinkles and folds on and around the nose, forehead, eyes, jaws, chin and neck and opening up the pores to reduce skin spots and pimples.
A Thai Facial Massage is often promoted as a natural face-lift, replacing anti-aging and anti-wrinkle creams, anti-acne facial washes, Botox treatments and surgical face-lift incisions and procedures.

Benefits

  • Less puffiness in the face. ...
  • A smoother-looking appearance around fine lines and wrinkles.
  • A more lifted, firm feeling face and neck.
  • An overall radiant glow and clearer complexion.

Aromatherapy
One of the most popular treatments on a spa’s menu, aromatherapy massage combines the power of essential oils with massage therapy, benefitting both the mind and the body.

During an aromatherapy massage, fragrant essential oils are applied to the skin using a carrier oil such as jojoba, sweet almond or grapeseed. Essential oils are plant-based oils which are extracted from herbs, trees and flowers, and each oil has its own unique properties which provide therapeutic benefits.

Essential oils penetrate your body as they are absorbed through your skin. These essential oils impart benefits to both your mind and your body, including improving your mood, alleviating pain and detoxifying your body, depending on the oils used.

It is also common practice to diffuse essential oils during an aromatherapy massage. When you inhale the aroma of essential oils, it is detected by sensors in your nose that connect directly to your brain’s limbic system which controls emotions. This means that the aromas you breathe in can directly influence your emotions.

Benefits
Moreover, it can help to manage the pain of many conditions such as fibromyalgia, which is a condition that causes increased sensitivity to pain all over the body, arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, chronic lower back pain, insomnia , which is a sleep disorder, and more.
Each essential oil used in aromatherapy is said to have different properties. For example, some calm and make you feel relaxed while others energize.
  • Calming:
Chamomile, lavender, and geranium oil
  • Decongesting:
Eucalyptus, pine, and tea tree oil
  • Energizing:
Rosemary oil
  • Uplifting:
Ylang-ylang, clary sage, rose, and neroli oil

Deep Tissue Massage vs. Sports Massage

Deep tissue massage relies on similar sports massage techniques, such as effleurage, but often is used as a firm-pressure massage of the whole body rather than a specific site. However, it may be more focused when used to treat neck or chronic lower back pain,1 or for pain management during labor and delivery.
